Developing Encaustic Hot Wax paintings

Always working in multiples, and rarely with anything in mind, I layer up my substrate with 25 thin layers or more. With the hot wax melted and fragrance in the air, brushing then heating one layer to the previous layer, I start to put together in my mind options of which way to go once my base is completed.

Here I've gotten together my base and some imagery, but not sure where to go next. Sometimes it's best to stop when it's still at the simple stage, so it doesn't get tooooo busy. Leave it at the point of being mysterious so the viewer can create in their own minds, what is going on in the painting. This way they will bond to the image and make it their own.
